Donald John Trump is the 45th president of the United States of America, take a deep breath and let that sink. This is the man whose emergence on the political scene was as a result of doubting the birthplace of the first black president. This is the guy who picks a fight with anyone from gold star parents to comedians, in Trump’s world no one is exempted from his wrath as long as you have crossed his path.
On how he will govern the US nobody knows, he is the most unpredictable person you’ll ever see. Perhaps, even he himself is not sure how he will rule. The only thing he knows is that he will succeed. A good example is the way he’s directly contradicting his cabinet secretaries. While most are saying Russia is a foe which must be treated as such he’s saying they are good people.
But Trump can also be the best president America has ever had. Have you thought of this possibility?
Trump is a deal maker. In his book, ‘The art of the deal’, he begins by saying “I DON’T do it for the money. I’ve got enough, much more than I’ll ever need. I do it to do it. Deals are my art form.”He’s going to take the presidency just as one of his deals and mind you he’s a multi-billionaire. That means that he’s really good at what he does.
Trump is unique politically. Unlike any president before him, he is not loyal to any party, the democrats hate him and the republicans have no option but to support him since he’s one of them. Most of them including the House speaker did not support him during campaigns. He won’t listen to them any more than they listen to him. His only loyalty is to himself, meaning that he can make deals with both parties as long as he deems fit. Have a look at that!
Trump is a tough negotiator and everyone knows that he negotiates with threats and in public especially through twitter. Just recently he criticized Boeing for over pricing the construction of Air force one and even promised to take the deal to someone else who can do it at a cheaper price and as a result Boeing have just announced a great reduction in the cost. He will ensure America gets the best but at the minimal cost possible which for a nation which is greatly in debt could be a good move and many could fall for this type of leadership.
Obama came to power in 2009 as the second coming of the messiah. People expected just too much of him, and that pressure didn’t help him. This is the reason why despite all the good he has done for the last 8 years, some people still feel he didn’t do enough. For Trump, it’s the vice versa people expects him to fail terribly hence even a minimal growth will be considered as success and Trump will sell it as if he has achieved a lot.
The only problem will be the foreign policy, there are so much at stake, that Trumps policy of talk and talk may not work much, he’ll need to find a way to balance between the allies and the nation America usually consider enemies. It’s no mean tasks but he won’t be the first Obama successfully improved the relationship between America, Cuba, Iran and other countries. The only think Trump, like Obama might shy off is to spark a debate with the ‘intelligent community’ He must also not open unnecessary fights with China because there’s just too much at stake.
President Trump has the ability to succeed. This is something which could one day be a source of inspiration to many people whose abilities are doubted by many. All these remain to be seen
Welcome Mr. President
